The BC05 is based on the original travel clock, the AB 20, introduced in 1975. Designed by Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs, This model first introduced the now-iconic yellow seconds hand, a detail that became a hallmark of Braun’s minimalist design language.

A key detail, the flip down cover which protects the clock itself when in transit and also houses a handy world time guide internally -- a retro-future graphic prior to the internet age -- adding to to the appeal of this iconic design object.
