Conceptualised from the creative flair of Alessandro Mendini, this corkscrew is an ironic and transformational self-portrait which embodies the playful yet sophisticated spirit of its author. Dressed in a yellow and black checkered suit, it does not go unnoticed.

"The checkered pattern is both a cryptic and enigmatic sign, especially when yellow and black, or gold and black. It is a highly signifying system, used both in medieval heraldry and on airport runways.
When very small, it translates into the grid of a mosaic or the weave of a fine stitch fabric; when large, it can be reduced to just the crossing of two colours. It has the power to structure any form, harnessing it in a hypnotic net, even susceptible to virtual deformations. The first use of this stylistic signature dates back to 1990."
