The shape of Savon du Chef hints at its function: thanks to the natural redox process, steel eliminates the odours that some foods like garlic, fish and onions can leave on your hands. Just rub the steel soap on your hands for a few seconds under cold running water and they will be left smooth and odour-free. The tip may be used to clean well below the fingernails.
